This instrument is used to measure various kinds of textiles (from very thin silk, to thicker wool, camel down, carpet) knitwear. (e.g., the sock on a sock, the socks, and the socks are comparable in abrasion resistance).
After the grinding wheel is replaced, it is also suitable for abrasion test of materials such as leather, rubber and plastic sheets.
